ETC On-Line Application Information

Thank you for your interest in applying to Carnegie Mellon University's Entertainment Technology Center (ETC)!  The application process is completed online and submitted electronically for your convenience.

You do not have to complete the online application in one sitting.
You will need the email address used on the application along with your password to access your application as many times as you like before submitting.

As you complete each section of your application, please keep in mind that the majority of the application items are submitted online, while others must be submitted directly to the Entertainment Technology Center. You are required to submit a statement of purpose, and a current resume online.  If you are submitting a portfolio, the link/url to your original work must also be submitted online through the application.

We must receive your official test scores directly from the testing agency, and we must receive official transcripts directly from each institution listed on your application.  For your official test scores, please provide the testing agencies with School Code 2074.  Your official transcript(s) must be sent to: Entertainment Technology Center, 700 Technology Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.  If your academic institution offers electronic submission of the official transcript, please have that sent to etc-admission@andrew.cmu.edu.  Again, all official documents must arrive directly from the institution and/or the testing agency.

The individuals you designated on your application to write letters of recommendation on your behalf will be notified directly by email.  They will receive instructions on how to submit their recommendation letter electronically to our office, and you will receive a confirmation once it is received.  You are required to have three letters of recommendation, and you must enter the names and contact information for each provider who can attest to your academic and/or professional qualifications.

When ready to submit your application, you will be notified of “missing information” on the application review page.  Please note, you may complete that information by clicking on the section where it resides in the application.  You do not have to click through the entire application.  Additionally test scores must be OFFICIAL so those will be updated when we receive scores from the testing agencies.

We wish you luck with the process and look forward to reviewing your application!
